Tsakonian langauge

According to Wikipedia article Ancient Greek dialects Tsakonian language is the only living Greek language which roots are not in Attic Greek. All other well known Greek languages — from Koine (Hellenic Greek) via Medieval Greek (Byzantine Greek) up to Modern Greek and its varieties have roots in Attic Greek. Only Tsakonian language has roots in Dorian Greek.

  1. You are probably right. While entering Leonidion in Peloponisos, there is a label which wellcomes the travellers:ΚΑΟΥΡ ΕΚΑΜΑΤΕ (KAOUR EKAMATE) which means ΚΑΛΩΣ ΗΛΘΑΤΕ, that is to say WELLCOME
